About a month ago we wrote an about the top 10 mountain bike rides to do in America. Well, here is the road bike edition.Doesn’t matter which you pick, because they are all awesome, just let us know how the ride goes. Enjoy!

10) The Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina

This travels through 2 different National Parks, Shenandoah and Great Smoky Mountains, which adds so much beauty in and of itself already. With over 400 miles of roads to get lost in, it is a great place to get lost in!Bring your camping gear and spend a week touring this great area of our country!

9) Miami through the Keys - Florida

Although it may be a bit humid, and the highest elevation is no more than about 100ft.The ride is gorgeous and it ends in Key West where you can relax in style at the lowest point in the US! Probably the easiest 150 miles you’ll ever ride! (Anything that ends in Key West can’t be that bad!)

8) Oregon Coast – beautiful, spectacular, and cheese! That’s right, Tillamook is made right there on the coast, so you can enjoy the food and the view in one shot! At only 82 miles, but a climb of over 5,000ft, this little ride will keep you busy!

7) Maine – Acadia Park

One of the most beautiful National Parks in the US is Acadia, and to be able to see it from two wheels makes it all that much better! It’s not the hardest ride at just under 100miles, but it’s ALL uphill (1,530ft) as you make it to the summit of Cadillac Mountain where you can catch the first peak of sunrise in the entire country!

6) Mt. Tamalpias (known to the locals as Mt. Tam)

A beautiful ride on the coast of California just north of the San Francisco Bay. It can loop from 30-200 miles, depending on how far you want to ride, with different levels of technical skills. Be sure to stop by Point Reyes and try some of the fresh seafood while you’re there!

5) Alaska – Turnagain Pass

Anything that takes you out of the continental US is on our list!Getting out is about adventure, and Alaska is full of that! This 100+ mile ride will keep you on your toes with technical difficulties, bears, and beauty! Also, in the summer, with 20+ hours of daylight, there’s no reason not to finish this ride, and maybe do it twice!

4) Washington – island hoping

What a great place to get that morning espresso shot and hop on the next ferry. You can easily get lost going from island to island in one of the more beautiful areas of our country. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch a few whales cruising in and out of the islands, and bring your camera for all the natural beauty you will see. Some great islands to start with are: San Juan, Lopez, Bainbridge, and Vashon island, to name a few.

3) Maui, Hawaii – Road to Hana

This is tough enough to drive, let alone bike, but, the views and scenery are amazing. Not to mention the challenge of the road itself! Quick facts: over 600 curves and 50 bridges; so bring a big lunch!

2) Mt. Evans, Colorado

This has to be on the list, especially since it goes over 14,000 feet and is the highest you can ride in the country! The actual climb is more than 6,500ft at elevation, so be in shape and get ready for incredible, majestic views!

1) Lastly – USA – that’s right, the entire country! Many of you start this ride every year, but only a few actually accomplish this feat. Regardless of which route you take, the ride is almost 4,000 miles over a couple of months takes time and endurance (as well as a job that let’s you have extended vacations!). But, for most, this is a ride of a lifetime.
